'Last Man Standing REMIX' produced by Oli Rockberger & Patrick Phillips was released Nov 24th 2021 via Human Static Records. The collaboration between the two began on a session for drummer/producer Richard Spaven’s ‘Real Time’ at Real World Studios (2018), for which Patrick was engineer, and Oli played keys. Since then, the two have worked together across Oli’s last few releases, with Patrick mixing EP’s ‘Terra Firma’ and ‘Folk Songs’ (2019), as well as Oli’s recent full length ‘Look Up’ (July 2021), which includes the original “Last Man Standing” track. Of the original, Oli says “....I feel this song is really representative of some core themes of the record, most of which was written during Lockdown....things like finding strength and perseverance to keep going amidst enforced isolation....they lie at the heart of this song, and of the album overall”. Oli felt that this track in particular had the potential to exist within an alternate sonic, groove and harmonic space; “... I was just
really excited about the idea of using this song as a chance to explore some new musical territory together with Patrick, who is so creative in his sonic approaches. I felt like it could also pave the way for what may
come next”.
